Kathmandu, March 26 \u2014 The festival of Ram Navami, marking the birth of Lord Ram, is being celebrated across Nepal today with devotion and religious fervor. The government has declared a nationwide public holiday to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Observed on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of the Chaitra month, Ram Navami sees special prayers and rituals held at temples dedicated to Lord Ram throughout the country. A large number of devotees have gathered at the Ram Janaki Temple in Janakpur, one of the most significant religious sites associated with Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this auspicious day, many devotees observe fasting and engage in prayers and worship, believing that such practices bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual well-being. Religious hymns and devotional activities are also being organized in various temples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Ram, considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born on this day in Ayodhya to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya during the Treta Yuga. The epic Ramayana narrates his life, including his marriage to Sita, the daughter of King Janak of Mithila, and his victory over evil forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
