Vote Counting Completed for Proportional Representation; Seat Allocation Process Begins
Nepal’s proportional representation (PR) vote counting has been completed, marking a key step in the post-election process. The final ballots from all constituencies, including Gorkha-1 and Ilam-1, have been tallied, allowing the Election Commission to move forward with determining how many seats each political party will receive under the proportional system.
As of Wednesday morning, over 10.7 million PR votes had been counted. The Rastriya Swatantra Party leads with more than 5.1 million votes, followed by Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. Smaller parties such as the Shram Sanskriti Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party also secured votes, while others remain below the threshold for proportional representation seats. The commission will soon finalize the official seat distribution.
